Taverna Nikolas

One of our favorite things to do while traveling is to try the local cuisine. In Fira, we made no exception. We tried to find an authentic Greek taverna with a traditional, home-style menu. We settled on Nikolas, which is located on a steep street called Erithrou Stavrou, in the heart of Fira. This traditional tavern had everything we were looking for: whitewashed facade with blue doors and windows, a cool inside with checkered checkered tablecloths, wooden chairs, and grizzled by friendly waiters. As for the food, the menu was quintessentially Greek. For starters, we ordered a salad with tomato, feta cheese, and crusty bread.
