Night and Day - Antonio López

It really makes quite an impression! Suddenly you see two giant baby heads in front of you. This excellent sculpture is a work of Antonio López and lies outside the train station of Atocha.

I had to catch the train some time ago and had the chance to see both sculptures inside the station (right now they are outside). Día y Noche (Spanish for Day and Night) represents two babies, one with open eyes (day) and the other with closed eyes (night). Antonio was inspired by the face of his granddaughter. He has also been awarded the Velázquez prize.
