Spectacular views
The Nigatsudo is one of the buildings belonging to the temple of Todai-ji. To get there you have to climb up some stone stairs, and you'll really feel the magic of the place. Admission is free, and you can enjoy some truly spectacular views of Nara. There's a rest area with tables, chairs, toilets and water (all free to use). In this temple, every year in February or March - depending on the lunar calendar - the Omizutori ritual takes place, with a fire ceremony as you can see in the picture.
