Ngo Dong

Ngo Dong River is the main channel to reach the famous Tam Coc caves, also known as Ha Long Bay. To get to the caves, you must rent a barge in Ninh Binh, and go around the beautiful landscapes that surround the Ngo Dong river environment. Before reaching the mythical karst caves we had a great time watching the beautiful rice paddies being worked on by peasants, along with the small hills and vegetation. The scenery takes me back to a simpler time. The walk along the river can be very relaxing, as long as you wear sun protection. Together with the murmur of the waves it's a pleasant walk. Along the way you can see some shanty looking houses along the banks of the river and the people who make a living from their catch.
