3 reviews of Newport Fishing Pier

Fishing in Miami

Fishing is one of the most popular activities in Miami Beach so you can find many places to do it. One of the best is the Newport Pier, built in wood in the 80's. However, the regular hurricanes and the saltwater meant that it deteriorated rapidly, so it had to be renovated about two years ago. At present, it has benches along the harbor where visitors can sit and read or enjoy views of the Sunny Isles bay. There's also a restaurant, bar and lounge area with cocktail-style tables. The pier is open 24/7, 365 days a year. It costs $2 to pass through, or $5 if you'd like to fish (although if you hold a Sunny Isles residence card, then access is free and fishing is just $2).

Stay away from this pier at all cost

Excellent

Where do I begin with this,
To begin with, the whole pier is closed all summer until 3:30pm because they have a kids fishing camp.
Instead of closing off a specific section to maybe keep better eye on this “children’s camp” they closed the whole pier.
Also, entrance is $10 if you want to fish and are not a resident of sunny isles. And yes, eventhough the pier is open for half of the day, you still pay full price. Extreme Robery. Every year the city changes the entrance fee. (Such money greedy it’s insane)
Not to mention , parking is almost non existent.
Honestly if you want to fish, go up to Dania beach pier, pompano pier, or go down to haulover jetty, south beach pier, key biscayne.
