The courthouse in New York, located in the heart of Manhattan just steps from City Hall, is one of the most cinematic of the Big Apple's historical monuments. In fact, we've all seen at least one American movie set or on the huge steps of this Supreme Court, or within the interior, with its ceiling painted in the Renaissance Italian style. One of the most beautiful monuments in New York, it shouldn't be missed!
I was walking near the Brooklyn Bridge when I ran into the building of the Courts of New York. The first thing that came to my mind were film images, of actors coming through those doors and down those mythical stairs. A marvelous place.
The neoclassical building in Foley Square was completed in 1927 and is home of the Supreme Court of the state of New York. It has a hexagonal design, but the most impressive part has to be the granite facade decorated by Corinthian columns. It is one of my favorite buildings in the area.
