A major cultural force
NEFA has been a major cultural force since it was created in 1976 as one of six regional arts agencies nationwide (with funding through the National Endowment for the Arts and state agencies). Today it has evolved considerably in the original regional model, as an organization that receives additional funding from corporations, foundations and individuals.
