Hotel Riu Negril
We stayed in the Hotel Riu Negril. Accustomed to Punta Cana, Riviera Maya, the conclusion is that Jamaica feels less 'Caribbean'. The weather: it rained every day from two in the afternoon. The beaches are much better in Punta Cana the environment and the people much less animated, with an easygoing character, although the issue is tipping isn't as exaggerated as in Mexico. The worst thing is that the hotel is set apart, to go to the best beaches or Negril 7 miles away you have to go by taxi, the beach is cut on a point and you have to go down the road. The public beaches and all that remains outside the hotels are authentic rubbish tips.
