3 reviews of Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County

So much to learn at LA's Natural History Museum!

Put on some comfortable walking shoes and set aside several hours – even a whole day - because there’s an abundance of things to look at and learn about at the Natural History Museum in Los Angeles! It’s a ton of fun for everyone of all ages, and it’s the perfect activity especially when it’s raining or too hot to be outside.

Learn about mammals, dinosaurs (this is really great one with huge skeletons on display), precious stones (very fascinating and beautiful to look at), insects, and much more! There are also the butterfly and spider pavilions, as well as special limited time exhibits (a previous one featured mummies from Egypt and Peru).

There is also a nature lab that’s pretty fun for kids and adults as well, where there are life-like models of animals like skunks and squirrels. Exhibits are so numerous that multiple trips to NHM may be required! LA’s NHM is located in Exposition Park right next to USC, a rose garden, and the California Science Center, which are also worth checking out if you’ve got time. The lot right across the museum is paid and ranges from $10 to $12 for the whole day. There is also metered street parking available a bit farther away.
