The Natural History Museum of Toulouse has recently been remodeled. Now the tours are interactive and more entertaining. The tour is meant to be taken through "evolution," placing each animal family in groups and understand how they each relate to one another. I recommend devoting at least a couple of hours in order to see the whole museum. At the entrance there is a bar-restaurant where you can have breakfast or lunch.
I really liked the museum, and there is a playground outside for kids of all ages. The earthquake simulation is pretty good and the animals are fantastic. Great for families and kids.
The Toulouse Museum is in the affluent district of Busca-Montplaisir Toulouse and was created in 1796 by Picot Lapeyrouse in the former premises of the Discalced Carmelite Monastery - a unique site. The site has been under construction for many years and is reorganized around several places in Toulouse. It reopened in 2007 after 10 years of closure.
