A dream for any Beatlemaniac
You can visit the houses where John Lennon and Paul McCartney grew up in Liverpool, England. A tour can be booked with the National Trust, the management entity which is responsible for preserving the memory and history of the two houses. Booking in advance is necessary but can be done at - 'https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/beatles/.' The tours have a limited number of visitors per day and are not open for visitors that are not a part of the tour. The number of trips varies by month and in winter the house is closed, so be sure to check dates and times in advance on the website.
The tour begins at the docks where a van comes to pick up visitors. From there, it continues to Aunt Mimi's house where John grew up. A friendly old lady receives the group and shows you the house and discusses the habits of the older residents. A home environment from the 50's and 60's is successfully recreated in detail with period furniture and objects. Next you take the van to the house where Paul grew up with his father and brother. There is a Beatle lookalike ve greets visitors and gives the tour. The tour lasts about 2 hours and while it is forbidden to take pictures inside the houses, it's something that no Beatlemaniac will never forget.
