The American Jewish experience

Founded in 1976 and located in Independence Mall in Philadelphia, the National Museum of American Jewish History is the only museum in the country dedicated to the exploration and interpretation of the American Jewish experience. It was originally founded by members of the historic Congregation, Mikveh Israel (created in 1740 and known as the "synagogue of the American Revolution ").
