The largest museum in the country
The National Museum of Denmark is between Tivoli Gardens and Slotsholmen, the smallest island, where the Danish parliament can be found. It is the largest museum in the country. Located in a lovely eighteenth century building, it tells you the story of Copenhagen's journey from village to the big city it is today. You can see archaeological remains from Zealand, the island on which Copenhagen was founded, old artifacts ... there's a lot to see, and it's a very interesting place. You can see the golden horns of Gallehus, dating back to the fifth century, which were found in the sixteenth century in Jutland.
