1 review of Nahanni National Park

National Park in Canada with attractions such as the 4 Big Guns and waterfalls

Nahanni National Park, is along the South Nahanni River, which is one of the prettiest wild rivers and most amazing in North America, in the Northwest Territories of Canada, about 500 kilometers from Yellowknife. The name is of Nahanni Dene and it means spirit. This park protects a part of Mckenzie Mountains and offers visitors an experience close to nature. Some of the main attractions of the park: the 4 big guns, sulfur Park Hotsprings, the Naha DEHE (South Nahanni River), Virginia Falls (the biggest waterfalls in North America), Nailicho, where the river plunges and its mountain ranges, all framed by a lovely natural area, with many animal and plant species, which is the ideal setting for scenery, you can also find guns, waterfalls and a system of limestone caverns.

The fauna, is a typical example of Canadian habitat, because you can find species such as wolves, grizzly bears, sheep, goats, caribou and overall species typical of the boreal forest, which color the landscape in a way like no other. The nearest town is Fort Simpson, in it you can find a visitor center, where you could learn about the geography, culture and history of the region. The only drawback of the place is transportation, as the most practical means to reach it are the seaplane and helicopter, however this place is so beautiful that it is worth a visit.
