Museum Pío Pablo Díaz
The Museo Pio Pablo Diaz houses ceramic objects made by the ancient Indians who inhabited the region before the arrival of the Spanish which date from 800 BC to 1600 AD. The museum features a mummified body covered in leather, wrapped in straw and tied with ropes made from plant fibers and wool, a symbol of death and also has a menhir, which is an anthropomorphic figure from near the Pico Nevado de Cachi. The Museum is open Monday to Friday from 8-19, Saturday 10-13 and Sunday 10-14. Admission is very reasonable, about 0.50 €. The website can be found on the Municipality of Cachi webpage.
