Local Collection Inside a Palace
This is a museum is under the authority of the City Hall and it is inexplicably unknown to the majority of the people of Valencia. It is an authentic jewel, located behind the cathedral, in a pretty square. I recommend its visit since it shows the baroque decoration typical of the houses of that time, and it also has nice paintings of local artists. It is a museum that illustrates perfectly the baroque period in Valencia. This 19th Century palace, the palace of the Counts of Berbedel, is a good example of noble architecture in Valencia. The staircase with its cupola above is a real beauty, as well as the checkered floors and a number of refined objects. It houses only a small part of the artistic local collection, and you can visit it once in a while because the exhibited works can vary, due to the great quantity that they have. There are a lot of temporary exhibits as well. The entrance ticket is 2 euros and it is free on the weekends.
