Come for the Demonstrations, Stay for the Art
Growing up near Corning, NY, I've always been fascinated by glass art and the Tacoma Museum of Glass is a great example of this beautiful work on the other side of the country.
There aren't a lot of exhibits in the museum, but what they have are incredible. Start by watching the glassblowers at work. This provides a great overview to the amount of skill and artistry that goes into each piece. People of all ages will be interested in the narrative and visual representation in this area.
To see the exhibits, allow about another 90 minutes. The art ranges from large-scale Chihuly to modern collections and stained glass. All in all, there's something for everyone.
