Museum of Edinburgh

The Museum of Edinburgh traces the history of the capital from prehistory to the present. There is an archaeological exhibition describing the life of the Roman occupation forces in the east of Scotland for almost 2000 years. Another section shows what life was like in the Old and New Town in the 1760's. In addition, there are collections of silver, glassware, ceramics and other decorative arts which highlight the skill and imagination of local artisans, going back centuries.
