Museum of Delphi: one of the most important in Greece

The museum of Delphi is one of the most significant in Greece because it saved most of the treasures of this ancient Greek city. It is well structured and what I can highlight are the friezes and, of course, the famous charioteer of Delphi. We see one of the most important friezes, frieze Siphnian. It is well preserved and it represented a battle between gods and giants. The sizes of the friezes are amazing and through them we can imagine that they were huge buildings of ancient Delphi. Another piece that stands out is the Sphinx of Naxos, which was constructed in the year 560 BC, although I still drew more attention to the Kouroi two copies of which are male statues, found in the 3rd room of the museum and are perfectly preserved.

They have an impressive height and one can not believe that you can make something so crude and so perfect. Acanthus column. It is in the 4th Ward and shows 3 women dancing. These are some of the highlights of the museum pieces, and above all, the Charioteer of Delphi, which is just down the museum. It is a life-size statue that is part of a sculpture commemorating the triumph of the Pythian Games of the year 474 BC. Perfectly sculpted and has a very natural forms that give a sense of movement. It really impressed me although I had seen many times in the books.
