Museo Della Chiesa Di San Francesco, or the museum of the Church Of St Francis, is a very interesting place to visit. The formal transfer of the body of the saint to here is bound by the prestige of the first gifts of the Pope and actually marks the real beginning of the collection known then as the Treasury of the Basilica. The founder of Gregory IX sent a cross of gold and brilliant gems, along with a relic of the cross of Christ. In addition there are home furnishings, liturgical objects and beautiful, valuable wallpaper.
