Museo Civico

Dopo la casa di Emilio Capizzano, nel centro storico di Rende, si incontra il museo Civico. E’ il secondo in ordine di “apparizione” perché prima incontrerete il MAON che dista, comunque, solo 100 metri dal museo civico. Il museo civico è ospitato dal Palazzo Zagarese e lo è dal 1980. Ha la zona folcloristica e quella pittorica, nella prima possiamo trovare oltre 3000 oggetti appartenenti alla vita quotidiana di un tempo, che sono stati sistemati ricostruendo anche i luoghi in cui vi si svolgevano. La zona pittorica è divisa in una parte dedicata all’arte moderna e un’altra al Quattrocento e all’Ottocento. Le opere migliori, a mio avviso, quelle di Mattia Prete. Purtroppo il museo, sebbene fosse sabato era chiuso, ma l’ho visitato in altre occasioni e fidatevi quando dico che ne vale la pena.
