Municipal Slaughtehouse, once a symbol of pride
Slaughterhouses were, along with the Palacios Municipal and Cemeteries, the constructions most frequently made by the architect Francisco Salamone . It was a proud symbol in the 30s of local industry booming, and slaughterhouses were an important source of work daily. Salamone brought themhygiene and functionality and led them with innovations that not only were inside. The Blue Slaughterhouse is notable for symbolic ornamentation with a central vertical tower form that resembles knives or razor blades pointing upward. It is on the old road to Tandil, just 2 miles from Christ of Blue Route 3.
