Mousseaun Mound
Mousseaux's Barrow is the oldest monument in the city of Pornic. It is a relic dating from the prehistoric Neolithic, around 6000 years ago. The megaliths are the first architectural buildings constructed by man in Europe. Some nomadic peoples began to settle, and this type of monument displayed the ownership of the territories. The Mound is high in the hills of the city, allowing them to dominate the landscape. They were Formerly used to worship the dead, the grave of the leaders and their families. The Mousseaux is in good condition, but the outside part is partially lost. Its discovery shows a long human presence in the area, by the good temperature, greenery and ocean.
