Monumento Caravelas 500 Anos

A zona turística da Costa das Baleias é famosa por suas belezas naturais, das quais as praias são a maior atração nesta costa que se estende por mais de duzentos quilômetros (com centenas de praias paradisíacas). O Monumento Caravelas 500 Anos fica na entrada da cidade e é uma bela escultura que marca a Costa das Baleias (localizado entre Caravelas e Barra de Caravelas), uma homenagem aos desbravadores portugueses que aportaram na região há quase cinco séculos, em especial Américo Vespúcio (que não era português, mas estava a serviço da coroa portuguesa).
