Monumento Antônio Velho

Em uma das regiões mais frias não só do estado do Rio Grande do Sul mas como também a nível nacional, estive visitando o Roteiro Turístico dos Campos de Cima da Serra entre as cidades de Vacaria, Cambará do Sul, São José dos Ausentes, Bom Jesus dentre outras. E foi em Bom Jesus que parei para dar uma descansada depois de ter visto alguns dos cânions lá em São José dos Ausentes. Além de parar para um descanso e depois seguir viagem, eu também aproveitei para saber quais eram os pontos turísticos da cidade. Na praça central eu encontrei o Centro de Informações Turísticas e foi ali que fiquei mais inteirado sobre onde eu poderia ir. Aproveitei e tirei fotos da Igreja Matriz que fica ao lado da praça central bem como o Museu Municipal que retrata o desenvolvimento do povo de Bom Jesus. Ainda na praça central encontrei um monumento que homenageia uma das grandes figuras públicas da cidade e que segundo informações que tive de um dos habitantes dali ele mereceu muito essa homenagem pois destacou-se enquanto prefeito entre os anos de 1919 e 1921. A pessoa homenageada em questão foi o Major Antônio Inácio Velho e que naquela época o cargo de prefeito ainda não existia mas sim o de intendente. O monumento é datado de 1998 e fica bem próximo ao Centro de Informações Turísticas.

I took advantage and took pictures of the Mother Church which is next to the central square and the Municipal Museum which depicts the development of the people of Bom Jesus. Even in the central square found a monument that honors one of the great public figures of the city and according to information I had one of the inhabitants there he really deserved this honor because he stood out as mayor between the years 1919 and 1921. The person honored in question was Major Antonio Inacio old and at that time the post of mayor did not exist but the quartermaster. The monument is dated 1998 and is right next to the Tourist Information Centre.
