Jédula se encuentra a medio camino entre Jerez y Arcos, pero es una pedanía de esta última localidad. La he cruzado muchas veces porque la carretera nacional pasaba por la mitad del pueblo. Había que tener cuidado al salir del núcleo urbano porque en el mismo cruce con la carretera que lleva a la Junta de los Ríos había un cuartel de la Benemérita y solían ponerse allí mismo. Sin embargo la autovía Jerez-Arcos ha eliminado este tramo, construyendo un vial paralelo a la ciudad por la que ya no se pasa. La Casa-Cuartel tiene pinta de estar abandonada y la forma de vivir de la pedanía ha cambiado considerablemente. Una de sus principales características es que se ha reurbanizado la travesía por la que ahora sólo pasan sus vehículos y algún curioso como yo. En el cruce maldito han colocado un monumento que por su actitud es evidente que se ha dedicado a un caminante.
