Monument to the Founder of the Christian Schools

Este monumento se encuentra justamente enfrente de la [poi=86611]Biblioteca[/poi] y de la Casa de la Juventud de Verín. Se trata de un pedestal de granito sobre el que se alza un busto, realizado en bronce, que representa al fundador de las Escuelas Cristianas, San Juan Bautista de La Salle, ya que el edificio que alberga la biblioteca fue anteriormente un colegio de esta orden. En Verín, el fundador de esta escuela fue García Barbón, que dejó el legado de que cuando el edificio no fuera utilizado con éste fin, revertiría en propiedad al [poi=83564]Ayuntamiento[/poi] de la localidad, quien lo ha utilizado para crear la [poi=86611]Biblioteca Municipal[/poi].

This monument is located right in front of the Library and the Youth House of Verin. It is a granite pedestal on which a bust in bronze, depicting the founder of the Christian Schools, St. Juan Bautista de La Salle stands as the building housing the library was formerly a college of this order . Verin, the founder of this school was Garcia Barbon, who left the legacy that when the building was not used for this purpose, revert ownership to the local council, who used it to create the Municipal Library.
