Monumento ai Caduti di Tutte le Guerre

1 review of Monumento ai Caduti di Tutte le Guerre

Worth a visit

Excellent

In every Italian city - as elsewhere in the world - there's a monument to those who fell in battle, giving their lives for their country. In Reggio Calabria the monument can be found on the Vittorio Emanuele III avenue. Unveiled in 1930, it shows the winged figure of victory in bronze, holding a sword in its right hand. Significant battle sites are listed, and at the base is another statue, also in bronze, of an armed soldier. A plaque recalls the names of some of those who died in wars.
