Monument to Saint Peter

The feast of San Pedro (Saint Peter), patron of Póvoa de Varzim, is celebrated on June 29, and the city has dedicated this monument to him - a bronze sculpture created by Armando Coelho showing San Pedro as a fisherman in a boat. Previously, the statue was at the City Museum and was moved to the Avenue of the Discoveries, opposite the fishing port, on the night of San Pedro 1996.
