Monument to Quintino Sella
The monument was built by Giuseppe Sartorio, and dedicated to the memory of the statesman who, in the nineteenth century, gave a strong impetus to mining activity throughout the Sulcis-Iglesiente area. In 1871, thanks Quintino Sella and money provided by the businessman Giorgio Asproni, the Mining Technical Institute was built in Iglesiente, which was named after Asproni, and which today remains one of the most frequented colleges in the city.
