Bust of Joao Verde
The bust of the great poet, known by the pseudonym Joao Verde, is at the great viewpoint over the river Miño very close to the central square Deu la Deu, the birthplace of the famous Alvariño wine. His is a bronze bust on a granite pedestal in a natural setting by the Miño river, bordering the town of Salvatierra. D. José Rodrigues was a regionalist poet of the last century regionalist who wrote poems not only in his native language but also in Galician.
