Monument to Camilo Branco

In the center of ​​Jardim da Carreira a monument is dedicated to Camilo Castelo Branco, one of the most distinguished writers of Portuguese literature. The monument is quite simple: A granite pedestal with the bronze bust of this nineteenth century Portuguese novelist. It was made in 1926 by public subscription. His full name is Camilo Ferreira Botelho Castelo Branco, and his best work is considered to be "Love of perdition." His style fits into romance and the themes of his novels often dealt with love and heartbreak.
