The highest point on Pantelleria
Montagna grande is the highest point on Pantelleria (836m). It can be easily reached from the village of Sibà. It is possible to drive all the way to the top by car. However it is more pleasant to take the number 1 hiking path starting from the Madonna del Rosario church. On the path there are plenty of volcanic features, fumaroles, lava flows and chunks of obsidian and pumice rock. Just before the summit there is a pleasant picnic area with shade and a water tap.
