The best views in Monfragüe
This castle (originally built by the Moors as a lookout tower) offers one of the most spectacular views of the Monfragüe National Park available. If you look to the west you'll enjoy stunning sunsets and to the east you can see the expansive Mediterranean forest. There is a signed highway that leads to the castle and a parking lot at the entrance. You only have to climb a few short steps and you're at the castle. There is also a small hermitage at the top of the mountain dedicated to the Virgin of Monfragüe. It is by far the best place to watch the sun set in the national park.
