Impressive
A mere 5 kilometres from Urgup in one of the most charming villages in the area, this charming hotel has a prime location, yet quiet. Escaping the most famous and tourist places in Urgup and Goreme, here you can stay in a former monastery that has been converted into a hotel with some rooms excavated in the rock and other newer that are very well integrated. One of the hotel's caves has been renovated so that you can have a drink in the evening mingling with the locals and listening to traditional music. Although the restaurant/cafe needs a little updating, as do the rooms, you can enjoy a great Turkish breakfast included in the price.
As an additional service, there are several computers with free internet, but being in an isolated place, you'll forget the "digital lifestyle". The owner Ercan was our tour guide, who knows the area well, also speaks Spanish (few Turks in the area do), French, Turkish and of course, will provide a lot of information on routes and less touristy, but impressive, places in the area. He will also pick you up at the bus station when you arrive. If you are looking to stay somewhere with charm, history, and quiet at a reasonable price, then think about this hotel.
