Mòcheni Valley

La Valle dei Mòcheni è una vallata del Trentino, circondata dalle cime del gruppo Lagorai. Nonostante sia situata a soli 20 chilometri da Trento, vi si parla ancora il mòcheno (una lingua germanica) e si caratterizza fortemente per una grande autonomia di cultura, gastronomia, usi e costumi, legata all'isolamento che l'ha marcata per lungo tempo. Si possono compiere qui vari tipi di esperienze, soprattutto naturalistiche, sportive e gastronomiche. Ogni anno vi si svolge la Bersntol Ring, un circuito paesaggistico e di trekking (in mòcheno Bersntol significa Val dei Mòcheni). Anche durante il resto dell'anno ci sono molte cose da scoprire e il panorama cambia radicalmente secondo la stagione, quindi vi consiglio di passarci sia d'inverno che d'estate. Sentieri, boschi, neve, funghi, masi, malghe, laghi, tradizioni montane.. Ci sono molte cose da fare e da vedere, grazie anche ai numerosi eventi e tentativi di recupero culturale della regione realizzati negli ultimi anni.

The Mocheni valley is a valley of Trentino, surrounded by the peaks of the Lagorai. Despite being located only 20 km from Trento, there is still spoken Mòcheno (a Germanic language) and is characterized by a very high degree of autonomy of culture, cuisine, customs, linked to the isolation that has marked for a long time . You can make various kinds of experiences here, especially nature, sports and gastronomy. Every year there is held the Bersntol Ring, a circuit landscape and hiking (in Mòcheno Bersntol means Val Mocheni). Even during the rest of the year there are many things to be discovered and the landscape changes radically depending on the season, so I recommend you spend in both winter and summer. Trails, woods, snow, mushrooms, farms, pastures, lakes, mountain traditions .. There are many things to do and see, thanks to the numerous cultural events and recovery efforts in the region in recent years.

L'incontaminata valle dei Mocheni è riuscita a preservare per decenni la lingua mochena, un dialetto germanofono che venne proibito durante l'epoca fascista. La Valle dei Mocheni è percorsa dal torrente Fersina e comprende i territori da Palù del Fersina a Pergine Valsugana. Risalirla in auto durante l'inverno è una vera avventura: non essendo molto popolata, sui snetieri nei dintorni dei paesi, si può camminare per parecchio senza incontrare nessuno. Lo scenario del Lagorai, una delle catene montuose trentine più inviolate, rende il luogo ancora più suggestivo. La particolarissima lingua mochena viene parlata ormai solo da circa duemila persone ma la provincia trentina stà facendo il possibile per far in modo che questo grande ed unico patrimonio culturale e linguistico non venga perduto!
