Miramar Hotel

The Miramar is a two star hotel which was renovated a few years. It would probably go unnoticed were it not for its spectacular views of the sea and the Picos de Europa mountain range. It is situated in a quiet village with a busy port, and there is a semi ruined fortress on a hill. What I love most about ballasts is its location: It is set high on a cliff. The best viewpoint is one of the windows of Miramar. At sunrise or sunset, and without leaving the bed, one gets mesmerized looking, far below, at the tiny white sand beaches that dot the vast bay, the tips of wind-worn stones and salt, narrow coves where colorful boats stranded awaiting high tide to re float.
