Minas de ocre

In Russillon one can find one of the most fascinating landscapes in Europe: Ochre Mine, a finite clay that prehistoric people were using as a pigment to paint their caves and their bodies. In fact, yellow and red ochres that originate in Rousillon (subjecting the ore to chemical processes) are considered the best in the world. It´s a lovely experience to take a stroll where the clay is and to see, one more time, the marvels that only nature is capable to create.
