Millennium Bridge
The Millennium Bridge is the fifth bridge in the city of Orense, known for its avant-garde design. The bridge consists of two levels: The lower is a concrete platform connecting the riverbanks. The second level of the bridge is a footbridge which, after a turning point, begins to climb to reach 20 m in height, with 100 steps. At that point, the viewer's position is breathtaking, elevated high above the river, with magnificent views of the city below. The walkway rests on the bridge structure and its lightness and undulating form makes it feel like a rope suspended in the air. The whole work, with its tensioned cables, the pillars and undulating line of the runway, is a work of great originality and strong visual impact.
