The city of Agde is one of the oldest in France, it was founded by the Greeks 2600 years ago . The city has so much great historical and cultural wealth, one feature which I particularly liked was the Canal du Midi. The city of Agde is crossed by the Canal du Midi, but also by the Hérault river. This is a city where fresh water has its place, like salt water from the coast, a few kilometers away, at the Cape of Agde. I really enjoyed my walks through the town of Agde, it was a nice break after a few days of beach and sun. The walks along the Canal du Midi were captivating, the area had a sweet tranquility.
All around you see fishermen, tourists and locals passing by. I walked quietly on the Midi Canal shore, enjoying the fresh country air and nature, until I came to an amazing spectacle: a lock round, with boats waiting their turn to go! I learned that it is the only French round lock. So, I stood there a moment, watching the passing boats ... A nice memory.
