Mesaia Stoa

The Stoa Mesaia is the largest building of the ancient agora, measuring 147 meters by 17 meters and its orientation is east to west. The Doric-style columns are found on two of the four sides of the building. It was made with porous stone from the mountains around Athens. In Roman times it provided a thoroughfare for residents. Most of the building today is destroyed but you see plans very well aware of its enormous size and its importance for the life of the city. He came there to buy and sell food, leather and other crafts, as well as to make decisions in the city. To see the size you could have, you can go to the only monument that is fully renovated, with Atallos, which has in the museum of the ancient agora, and in which you feel very small.

The stoa was much bigger!

The Mesaia stoa is the largest building...
