Mercado 2 de Maio

The Market 2 Maio is situated in a kind of square that opens onto the shopping and pedestrianized Rua Formosa. This was the place where the old municipal market was located, a space that was remodeled by architect Alvaro Siza Vieira for the construction of this new building. In this market you can find all kinds of food products and greengrocers, butchers, fishmongers, bakeries to name but a few stalls.
