Melk Abbey

Melk Abbey is gorgeous. We arrived by boat on the Danuvio which was a great experience because you can see castles on the tops of some mountains as you travel. When we arrived at Abbey Well we were surprised, not only for its size but for its beauty. In the library of Abbey Well, scenes from the film In the Name of the Rose were filmed, probably because it is such a beautiful location. Visiting Melk Abbey, situated on the river Danube in Austria, should be included in anybody's travel plans. The spiral staircase invited me to call it "Stairway to Heaven".
