Undoubtedly one of the most beautiful places and most charming of all Paris are the Luxembourg Gardens. Within this garden city, one of the most popular of central Paris, is the Fountain of Mary of Medicis. Maria de Medici, regent of France was widowed five days after being crowned. To get away from the court, to find new residence, she ordered the building of the Luxembourg Palace. She chose this place to build her new settlement in the sprawling grounds surrounding it, the gardens, are just as original as this beautiful fountain.
