Médaillon de Gort

Voici une petite médaille intéressante et dont la valeur historique ne manque pas d'intérêt puisqu'elle représente le vicomte général Gort V.C., qui eut le commandement en chef du BEF, c'est-à-dire de British expeditionnary force (la force expéditionnaire britannique qui se rendit en France). Ce militaire eut la lourde tâche d'organiser la célèbre évacuation des troupes françaises et britanniques en mai 1940, à Dunkerque et sur toute la côte, donc également à la Panne. Cette médaille rappelle donc l'importance de cet homme dans le début du second conflit mondial.

Here is an interesting little medal and whose historical value is not lack of interest since it represents Viscount Gort VC General, who had the chief command of the BEF, that is to say British Expeditionary force (expeditionary force British who went to France). The military had to organize the famous evacuation of French and British troops in May 1940, Dunkirk and all along the coast, so also the failure heavy task. This medal reminds the importance of this man in the beginning of the Second World War.
