Callejeros Viajeros
A fashionable neighborhood
The Meatpacking District is a neighborhood in Manhattan, ranging from West 14th Street south to Gansevoort Street, and from the Hudson River east to Hudson Street. Its name comes from the meat and poultry markets that once stood here, along with more than 200 slaughterhouses. In the 60s it started to decline, with the slaughterhouses closing, but it has been reborn since the late 1990s, and in 2004 New York Magazine named it the most fashionable district of the city.
