Museum with amazing architecture and collection of period furniture, among other things
Part of the interior rooms Mateus Palace have been converted into a museum, and can be covered by a tour (in Portuguese) for around an hour. The price is not cheap (7.5 € ) but worth it because it is amazing, both to see the architecture of the palace itself, like collections of furniture that are in the different rooms. The museum is on the 1st floor of this amazing Baroque palace designed by Nasoni XVIII. The entrance hall (with a lovely chestnut wood paneling on the ceiling), 6 rooms along the south, and in the north, the library and 4 bedrooms. The lounge and the rooms are decorated with period furniture (Portuguese, French and English of the 17th and 18th centuries), inside which exhibit collections of silverware, china and Indian from the 17th, 18th and 18th centuries.
