Arantxa Ros
Mas Perafita
Two weeks ago I was traveling in the Costa Brava seeing many charming places. But I was in a XIV century farmhouse restored by the family of Martin Faixó that is both rural accommodation and a winery. The place is well worth a stop. The house stands in the middle of a vast carpet of immaculate lawn, overlooking the vineyards and hills of Amporda. You lose track of time and are reminded of the Italian countryside. At the tastings, though I'm not a fan of rosé wines, the ones we tried were good, light, very fresh. My favorite, sweet dessert wine was de-li-ci-ous! Perafita has 4 rural placs to stay, just finished, perfect for a romantic getaway, spacious, decorated with simplicity and good taste, as seductive as the wines and the Costa Brava.
We were greeted by the family that owns the winery, who acted as guides. They talked about the recovery project for family vineyards, of making their wines, taking them back to their family's past. His fixation on quality leads them to discard those wines that are not good enough, without ceremony. This family believes in the potential of the area and local attractions. They are committed to quality. We are in a privileged environment capable of satisfying the most demanding of travelers.
