Restaurante Marte

A good option to eat in the old town of Santiago de Compostela is Marte restaurent, in Avenida Rodrigo de Padron, opposite the police station. The value is good, and the food is nothing particularly exciting, but you can have a full meal for 5 euros (I recommend the Spanish omelette with salad, but they also have eggs with chips and chorizo, breaded chicken, calamari ... ) or a menu of the day for 10. If you're on a tight budget, I recommend it - around this area, almost all the restaurants are on the expensive side. It's in a quiet, pedestrianised area with a terrace.
