Market Square

Si è scritto e detto tanto, tantissimo su Spoleto. È un borgo con radici antiche, con una storia che comincia prima dell'anno 1000, sede di diocesi e di una splendida cattedrale oltre che del famosissimo festival dei due mondi. Durante la mia visita però mi è capitato di sostare una mezz'ora in piazza del mercato, meno famosa di altre e molto più vissuta dagli abitanti. Tra una chiacchiera al bar e l'altra, fermarsi semplicemente ad osservare il quotidiano della gente che va, viene, chi prepara i tavolini, chi passa in bici... uno spaccato di vita... In una piazzetta che nulla ha da invidiare alla più famosa piazza del Duomo.

Much has been written and said so, so much of Spoleto. It is a village with ancient roots, with a history that begins before 1000, seat of the diocese and a beautiful cathedral as well as the famous festivals of both worlds. During my visit, however, I happened to stop half an hour in the marketplace, the less famous than others, and much more experienced by the inhabitants. Among a chat at the bar and the other, stopping just to look at the newspaper of the people who goes, comes, those who prepare the tables, those who cycle to ... a slice of life ... In a small square that has nothing to envy to the most famous Piazza del Duomo.
